About the Role:

Job Title: SQL Server Consultant

Location: Remote

Role details:

• We are seeking a skilled and experienced SQL Server & Data Platform Customer Engineer with expertise in SQL Server, Azure SQL, and Data Warehousing.
• For SQL Server, there should be a strong focus on Performance, High Availability, and Failover Clustering.
• An ideal candidate will play a key role in design, development and optimization of SQL Server Data Platform deployments as well as assisting in migration and modernization to Azure.

Skills/ Job expertise needed:

• Enterprise level support and administration focused specifically on:
• SQL performance and tuning optimization, Clustering, Always on Availability groups, High Availability, Core SQL +Migration, on-premises and cloud.
• SQL Server on IaaS experience on Azure/ Other public cloud required.
• All versions of SQL Server (2012 and onwards)
• Solving performance problems, query tuning, and optimization
• Architectural experience for Data Platform
• Architecting for High Availability and Disaster recovery solutions using FCI, Always on Availability groups
• Azure data factory, Azure SQLDB, Azure SQLDB Managed Instance, Azure Synapse knowledge is a plus.
• Delivering and/or authoring technical training
• SQL Server Integration Services, Reporting Services, Analysis Services
• Power BI modeling, development and embedded experience and knowledge are a plus.
• Advanced MS certifications are preferred.
• Previous Consulting and/or customer facing role.

• Power Shell development skills are needed.
• SQL Server on Linux experience is a plus
• Proven experience with SQL on Linux.
• Deep knowledge of Linux operating systems.
• Experience with clustering solutions using DHi2 and/or Pacemaker
• Strong performance troubleshooting skills for SQL on Linux in both standalone and Always on AG environments.
• Migrating from SQL Server on Windows to SQL Server on Linux skills.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $115,000 - $120,000 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
